"Understanding how to use QuickBooks will guarantee my individual success when working for a small business. I know this from experience..." - Brian Bradford
In Advanced Accounting, we learn how to use the QuickBooks program. Mr. Giraud breaks up the entire program into different sections. In each section, we learn various tasks within QuickBooks, with the goal of learning how to use the program to apply to our accounting future. QuickBooks is a great addition to the Advanced Accounting class. I personally know that almost every small business uses QuickBooks, and if they don't use QuickBooks, then they use an accounting program that is very similar.
Understanding how to use QuickBooks will guarantee my individual success when working for a small business. I know this from experience because I work for a small business called Don's TV: Maximum Sight and Sound in Waterloo. At Maximum, they use an accounting program that is similar to QuickBooks, so when I started working there, I knew how to use their program without anyone having to teach me. After learning about QuickBooks in Advanced Accounting, I was also able to convince my boss to switch our old accounting program over to QuickBooks because it has more useable features and is more user-friendly.
Advanced Acounting student, Jake Velky, has also experience with QuickBooks in the real world. Jake was job shadowing at The W, when his mentor encountered a problem with her accounting program, which happened to be QuickBooks. Jake was able to help resolve her problem. She was very impressed that he was taught how to use that program in high school because she had to get trained on how to use it at her job.
Our classroom environment is very hands-on. We spend everyday working with the program by ourselves and with others. We learn how to use every feature on this popular and useful accounting program.
