I was able to attend the AEA 1:1 Tech Conference and learned many new
ways to integrate technology into my classroom instructional
practices. I was very impressed with Sarah Tapper Staudt, a PreK-4th grade
teacher/ librarian from Mason City. She demonstrated several different
apps that she uses for all grade levels and content areas. She also
shared some classroom management apps that have worked well for her.
I left very excited to share these resources with my students! I continue to follow Mrs. Staudt and utilize some of her apps and ideas!
I also attended a text-to-speech session on apps for the iPads. There are several different apps that use this method, but one that I really like is "I Speak Words." Word Wizard is a unique app that allows students to hear the sounds of both letters and words using a movable alphabet. This app can pronounce and spellcheck an unlimited number of words and sentences using the movable alphabet!
