2. For reluctant learners and many adults, remind them that “Home is the Magic Button”. Anytime we think we have messed something up, go back home and start again. No worries.
3. Wonderopolis app provides a “wonder of the day”. Even better, the web based Wonderopolis.org enables a child to easily search a topic of interest, have a short article read to them about the topic, find related images in the Wonder Gallery that can be copied and pasted into their own document. There is also usually a short video to view on the topic and there are related vocabulary words and definitions under Wonderwords.
5. App Smashing is a new concept to me. As I understand it, students begin creating in one app and continue using another. For example, begin in Geoboard, after the student has created some closed figures, take a screen shot. Open Skitch, and retrieve the Geoboard creation. Then the student can label or otherwise annotate the creation before sharing.
