Format: Chrome App Description: The Gmail Offline app is the beta version of the Gmail (Online) app and allows users to view, send, and search emails without Internet access. When the user is in a location with Internet access, the app automatically synchronizes and downloads new messages that can be viewed later without Internet access. This app has a fast response time and works similar to its counterpart, Gmail (Online). Classroom Idea: This app is useful for students that are working in locations without Internet access, for example when traveling in a car. At school, the Gmail Offline app may not be used as often but is especially helpful when the Internet is not working properly or when students are working in specific locations in which the Internet does not work properly. This app helps students to check for messages and to stay in touch with classmates and friends, even when they are not near Internet access. Recommended By: Sanah Munir, HS Tech Team Member |
